We know that specific frequencies excel at detecting certain species of fish: Bluefin Tuna—60 kHz, squid—133 kHz, and cod—175 kHz. The M265LH transducer includes all these frequencies plus every other frequency in the high and low bandwidths. This powerhouse delivers excellent resolution, bottom discrimination, and bait and game-fish separation at all depths.
Airmar’s M265LH is packed with a seven-element, low-frequency array that operates between 42 and 65 kHz for excellent deep-water performance. The high-frequency ceramic operates between 130 and 210 kHz with a narrow, 10° to 6°, bandwidth—perfect for picking apart structure and pinpointing tight-holding fish in structure.The transducer is installed in the included tank which is cut to the boat’s deadrise angle and affixed inside the hull. The low-frequency band, operating between 40 and 60 kHz, is a deep-water performer, giving excellent coverage and tracking. The SS175L transducer delivers up to 20 kHz of total bandwidth in just one installation.
Tilted Element™ transducers have the ceramic element fixed at a 20°, 12°, or 0° angle within the housing. When the transducer is installed almost flush to the hull, the tilt of the element corrects for the hull deadrise, orienting the beam directly down. This ensures maximum echo returns to the transducer for more accurate depth readings.
The SS175L is available in three Tilted Element models:

Active Imaging is available in two models
- Active Imaging 3-IN-1 combines the new Active Imaging scanning sonar with a traditional Medium/High CHIRP sonar element for easy single transducer installation
- Active Imaging operates at 800kHz or 455kHz with maximum ranges of 150ft (800kHz) or 300ft (455kHz)

- Active Imaging transducers are constructed of a polymer that reacts to sound waves more closely to water. This ensures that no sonar signal is lost during transmit or receive
- Active Imaging transducers include separate sonar elements for SideScan transmit and receive Separating transmit and receive allows Active Imaging to have an incredibly fast ping speed (Ping speed directly correlates to image resolution). Additionally, these separate elements focus more of the sonar signal outwardly, increasing the sonar signal to the sides and leading to better range performance
