This compact transducer provides a forward-looking view of up to eight times your current depth, allowing you to navigate shallow or poorly-charted waters with confidence. Includes a ForwardScan Long Stem transducer ideal for thick or steeply-inclined hulls, plus stainless steel sleeve and blanking plug.

Know What Lies Ahead

ForwardScan uses forward-looking sonar to give you a clear view of the bottom ahead of your boat. This award-winning technology is a powerful defence against running aground in shallow, unfamiliar, or poorly-charted waters. ForwardScan generally offers a forward view of 4-5 times your current depth; for example in 3 metres (10 feet) of water, see the bottom 12-15 metres (40-50 feet) ahead. Under ideal conditions ForwardScan can see even further, looking ahead up to 8 times your current depth. The 180 kHz ForwardScan transducer is designed to minimise interference from common 200 kHz transducers, enabling it to be used alongside existing fish-finding or depth-tracking sonar.

Simple 2D View and Chart Overlay

See a simple, immediately understandable view of the bottom ahead. Bottom Colour Tracking shows the bottom as a solid terrain in an uncluttered, side-on picture. For more detail, you can choose to display sonar returns from throughout the water column; these can illustrate other potential hazards such as dock posts. Perfect for cruising, you can also overlay ForwardScan depth data on charts: Heading Line View uses colour-coded segments to represent deep, medium, and shallow water ahead. Depths are customisable to suit your boat”™s draught, and a shallow depth alarm helps to ensure you”™re never caught unaware.

Easy Installation and Maintenance

The ForwardScan Long Stem Transducer features an extended stainless steel through-hull sleeve and specially designed fairing block to accommodate hulls up to 47.6 mm (1 7/8 inches) in thickness and up to 28 degrees deadrise. A built-in self-closing valve means the ForwardScan transducer can be inserted and removed from the sleeve while on the water, allowing quick and easy transducer maintenance.

We deliver to most addresses within mainland Australia & Tasmania, for delivery to remote territories & internationally please contact us to arrange a quote prior to making a purchase. We normally require a street address for delivery – though if it is something small a PO Box is normally acceptable (e.g. sounder/GPS unit. If you are unsure please contact us). Unfortunately, some remote locations in Australia cannot be serviced, however Northside Marine’s carrier may be able to deliver to a local depot where you can collect your products. If you live in a remote area not regularly serviced by Australia Post please contact us to see what we can do for you. Delivery Information.

At Northside Marine we appreciate that you may have second thoughts about your purchases and will give a ‘Change of Mind’ exchange/refund if goods* are returned within 7 days. For ‘Change of Mind’ purchases, goods can only be accepted back for refund or exchange in “as sold” condition including: undamaged original packaging, complete instruction books, manuals, accessories, etc. If freight expenses of any type have been incurred, these are not refundable. Return freight to us must be covered by the customer. Prior to return of products the client must first notify us to obtain approval. Your Sales Docket must accompany all returns.

At our discretion ‘Change of Mind’ exchange/refunds may be subject to a rehandling charge.
