What is a Yamaha Repower?

A repower is the process of removing your existing outboard motor and replacing it with a new or upgraded engine — most commonly a new Yamaha four-stroke outboard. It's one of the most cost-effective ways to dramatically improve your boat's performance, reliability, fuel economy, and overall enjoyment.

Free Repower Consultation.

It starts with a no-obligation conversation. Bring your boat to our Boondall or Coomera workshop, or contact us with your vessel details, and our team will conduct an initial assessment to determine the correct Yamaha engine specification, transom compatibility, and rigging requirements. We'll discuss your performance expectations, usage profile, and budget — and provide honest, expert advice.

Step 2

Detailed Quote.

Following the consultation, we provide a comprehensive written quote covering the new Yamaha engine, all required rigging components (controls, steering, fuel system), installation labour, and commissioning. No hidden costs — everything is itemised and explained before any work begins.

Step 3

Professional Installation.

Your repower is carried out by our Yamaha-certified technicians to manufacturer specifications. All rigging — throttle and shift controls, power steering (where applicable), fuel delivery, and electrical integration — is handled as part of the repower package. Every installation is completed with the same precision and care as a new factory build.

Step 4

On water Commissioning & Break-In Guidance.

Before you drive away, your repowered boat is water-tested by our team to verify correct performance, trim tab settings, and engine operation. We'll walk you through the break-in procedure for your new Yamaha engine, explain the log book service schedule, and ensure you're completely comfortable at the helm before you leave.

Step 5

Ongoing Yamaha-Authorised Servicing.

Post-repower, Northside Marine provides all Yamaha log book servicing and warranty support from either our Boondall or Coomera facility — keeping your new engine in peak condition and protecting your warranty investment for years to come.
