Northside Marine is situated on a 10,000m2 site which was purpose-built as a marine retail facility opening in 1999. The buildings on site consist of a Boat Showroom, Parts and Accessories Department and Service Reception and Workshop.Northside Marine has been established for over 50 years and is still in Founding Family Nickerson’s control. We have an extensive range of parts and accessories with some of the best brands on the market. This department has 4 full-time employees and two part-time. It is open 6 days a week as with the boat sales department.

This department covers all boating accessories from sailing gear, general chandlery, and water sports to the most sophisticated electronics available on the market and is an essential part of our business to keep customers coming back into the store.

Our service team consists of a Service Manager, Senior Service Advisor, Admin manager, seven Senior Technicians, two apprentices, and two detailer/general hands, boat tester, and driver.

Our average intake of service customer jobs is between 35 and 45 jobs per week. Our total years of service in the marine industry from our service team add up to over 125 years of marine experience all at Northside Marine. The majority of our service work is split between outboards and sterndrives servicing, new boat pre-delivery, electronic installs, full boat fit-outs, sea trails, logistics, and off-site servicing and repairs.

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing my dream boat. After two years of thought and research I chose the Surtees 650 Game Fisher. I met Jason Comino from Northside Marine Brisbane at the Sanctuary Cove boat show and visited the Surtees exhibits. A lovely fella, extremely knowledgeable, and a very likeable chap. Days later I placed an order with him. He filled me with confidence from the first moment I spoke to him. To say this was an exciting and enjoyable transaction is an understatement. The service from Jason Comino at Northside Marine, and Cliff Schick from Surtees Boats based in New Zealand was simply outstanding. I made a number of changes and additions to the boat. Making the cabin a bit longer as I intend to sleep on it at weekends, incorporating a galley, sliding doors, toilet, extra lighting to the boarding platform, searchlight, rear cages and timber look seadeck etc etc the list goes on. I was kept informed every week throughout the build and even sent five or six photos every week showing the build process and progression. Extremely thoughtful of all involved. The support and advice offered by Jason Comino was excellent and I'm so thankful I listened to him. He made certain recommendations regarding essential options which have proved to have been invaluable out here in the Qld sun. For instance I wasn't that bothered about the extended canopy or the two forward face roof hatches - Crikey, they are a godsend. When painting the boat Surtees took the time to contact me via Jason at Northside Marine, to recommend the painted black cages I ordered, should be matched by painting the bow rails too. Surtees also did not charge me for this, it was extremely generous and demonstrated that they actually cared about the final look of the boat. Throughout this transaction and build process, I have been updated, informed and actually cared for from start to finish. They all made me feel like a king. The delivery was a very special moment for me and the boat was presented and handed over to me beautifully by Northside Marine. Between Jason Comino, Surtees, and Northside Marine, they really couldn't have done anything any better at all. Since the purchase we've had a lot of wind and rain, but I go out every weekend. The boat is extremely impressive and handles so much better than my high expectations. It just glides through the chop like a knife through butter, it's so comfortable I actually feel like I'm in a Rolls Royce, waaaay better than the Bar Crusher which was my 2nd choice. I really do love it and enjoy it that much. It's quite rare to experience such enthusiastic, professional service and support from companies in this day & age. Once again I can’t speak highly enough of Mark and the crew. Mark sold us our Stabicraft 11 months ago and we had some issues with the helmmaster. Tried to get it repaired here locally in Cairns with no luck. Mark spoke to Yamaha and his mechanics and got us into Cavs marine in Tully. We didn’t mind driving the two hours to actually get the boats navigation system up and working. Highly recommend both of these teams.

Just picked up our Highfield 360 Sport from Chris Steffen at Northside Marine. I was really picky… I research everything to death but the team and the service and the product was superb. Nothing was too much trouble and I asked for quite a few alterations. I was kept up-to-date with delivery and the helpful suggestions just kept coming from the whole team Bill, Keely even the guy at the chandlers for mooring lines etc. The show room/yard has a lot of stock unlike some dealers and they were happy to organise my wife and I to experience the boats on the water before we bought. If you are a discerning buyer and you want quality and genuine care and passion for boating look no further. We travelled an hour to see these guys and we kept doing it because it was worth the trip every time. Well done Northside Marine you went above and beyond and my wife and I just want to thank you all for making our getting-out-on-the-water so much fun. Your passion shows.

Bunch of legends!!! Specially Adam from the service department. I had an issue with my outboard and was abou to fly to perth where i work called about 10 different places, and no one would even wanted to talk saying they're fully booked for weeks and won't be able to help.
Called Adam and explained how stuck I was he said, "Drop it in ASAP and will fit you in and sort it out before your departure!! Drop the boat next morning at 8.30 am and done by 12.
If you are reading this review, don't hesitate to deal with guys. Just ask for Adam, and he is the man to sort you out for sure 🙂

I have mixed feelings about this place. I have had amazing service from the first salesman who I purchased my boat from (he is still there) but the delivery of my boat was from a different person and a lot of information was not passed on to me during delivery which affected my experience - so your experience can be very much affected by who you talk to. Also I have ordered a number of parts from their parts shop and 2 out of 4 times they provided me the incorrect part which meant a return trip, though the parts guy was apologetic.
